Olympic rowers took to the Thames on Saturday (August 25th) as part of a Heroes' Tour of Henley.

The celebration included a row past and open-top bus tour of the Oxfordshire town.

Twelve Leander club members were medalists at London 2012. The day’s celebrations started with the row past from Leander to the River and Rowing Museum, then downstream to Upper Thames Rowing Club before returning to Leander.

A flotilla accompanied two eight boats and large crowds turned out on the riverbank and in streets to greet the rowers.

The bus tour preceded by a marching band finished at the town hall for a civic reception before another reception back at Leander.

Olympic athletes included gold medallists Anna Watkins, Tom James and Alex Gregory.

Others there included Chris Bartley, Richard Chambers, Mark Hunter, Alex Partridge, Tom Ransley, RIck Egington, and Greg Searle. Plus Matt Langridge, Phelan Hill, Will Satch , Steve Rowbotham, Lou Reeve , Katie Greves , and  Debbie Flood.
