The largest container ship to sail on the Thames berthed at DP World London Gateway port - after a fire on board resulted in a rescheduled voyage.

UASC Barzan had been due to dock at Felixstowe from the Far East but a blaze in one of the cargo holds caused her to divert to Rotterdam meaning the vessel lost her time slot at the Suffolk port.

Instead the ship, carrying an estimated 9,000 containers, docked at London Gateway - the largest so far to do so.Barzan is an ultra large container ship operated by the United Arab Shipping Company.

The ship sailed for Hamburg on Tuesday (Sept 22nd) see below.
