Henley on Thames will be hosting it’s first ever Floral Flotilla on Saturday May 16th.

The flotilla is part a series of events bringing Chelsea Fringe - timed to coincide with the Chelsea Flower Show - to the Thames

Organiser Vicroia Newton said: " We would like people to register their craft and join in and also for those without vessels to just come down and picnic and enjoy the day.

"We are calling anybody who has access to a river craft – from paddle boards to paddle steamers – to decorate their craft with a horticultural theme – flowers, fruit orvegetables.Anything goes even swimming. It does not need to mean spending a lot on formal displays, unless of course you want to."

The flotilla will muster at Mill Meadows in Henley on Thames from 11am and will then parade up and downstream before re-mooring for lunch.

There is no entry fee to the event but craft need to be registered. Contact Victoria Newton at  victoria.newton@btinternet.com or call 07780607738.
