THAMES PASSENGER APPEAL BACKED

A Thames-side council has allowed an appeal over a controversial plan for a passenger boat facility near Windsor Bridge.

The scheme for a pontoon at Jennings Wharf near the castle was submitted to Windsor and Maidenhead Council by Thames Executive Charters. It was refused on two occasions.

But the company went to appeal and the council has announced the appeal has been allowed.

Boating organisations objected to the plan claiming large vessels turning just us upstream from the bridge would pose a safety risk.
