Over half a million people visited Tower Bridge last year as the landmark was spotlighted during the Jubilee celebrations and the Olympics.

The figures were revealed at a new exhibition, This is London, opened on one of the bridge’s walkways.

The show features the internationally acclaimed illustrations and prose from Miroslav Sasek’s classic children’s book. First published in 1959, Sasek’s child’s-eye view of London’s sights, buildings and people form an affectionate portrait of the city.

Open now on the west walkway it features 29 large-scale reproductions of Sasek’s  artwork complemented by information about London today.
